An Ekahau Wi-Fi survey shows real coverage, interference and capacity — not a guess from a phone app. For companies and logistics centers in Slovakia we deliver a heatmap report, identify dead zones and propose a solution, typically with TP-Link Omada. Standberg is a certified TP-Link partner for measurement and implementation.
Why warehouses and logistics sites struggle with Wi-Fi
Warehouse Wi-Fi is not office Wi-Fi. Metal racking, high ceilings, concrete, forklifts and hundreds of handheld scanners change how radio signals behave. The result is dropouts at loading docks, slow barcode scanners, unstable WMS sessions and constant operational friction.
Typical symptoms:
- signal bars look fine, but throughput collapses,
- roaming between access points is slow or fails,
- one zone is overloaded while another is a dead spot,
- interference from neighboring networks or industrial equipment,
- teams “fix” Wi-Fi by adding more APs without a survey — and the network gets worse.
What is an Ekahau Wi-Fi survey?
Ekahau is a professional Wi-Fi site survey and design platform. Instead of guessing AP placement, we walk the facility, capture real RF data and produce heatmaps that show coverage, interference and capacity risks.
A survey usually includes:
- floor plans for halls, racking aisles, offices and docks,
- signal strength (RSSI) and signal-to-noise measurements,
- channel and interference analysis,
- AP overlap and roaming zones,
- dead spots and capacity bottlenecks,
- recommendations for AP count, model class and placement.
For smaller sites we may also use NetSpot. For companies, warehouses and logistics centers in Slovakia, Ekahau gives clearer evidence for management decisions and network design.
Process: survey, report, solution design
- Brief: what Wi-Fi must support (scanners, AGVs, VoIP, cameras, guests).
- Site walkthrough: materials, existing APs, cabling and PoE.
- Ekahau measurement: on-site data collection.
- Report: heatmaps, weak zones, interference notes, capacity risks.
- Solution design: AP count/placement, channels, VLANs, management.
- Implementation & validation: install, configure, optional post-survey check.
The report is a decision tool: how many APs you need, where they belong, and what to fix before buying more hardware blindly.
From survey to a working network: TP-Link Omada
Standberg is a certified TP-Link partner. For business and logistics Wi-Fi we primarily deploy TP-Link Omada SDN — EAP access points, switches, gateways and centralized control via Omada Controller.
Why Omada fits after an Ekahau survey:
- central management of many APs,
- roaming and RF controls suited to multi-zone warehouses,
- VLAN separation (operations / guests / IoT / cameras),
- scalability from SMB sites to larger logistics halls,
- remote visibility after go-live.
The survey answers where and how many. Omada answers how to run it day to day. See also our Wi-Fi solutions and networks & Wi-Fi pages.

Who benefits most
| Environment | Typical issue | What the survey reveals |
|---|---|---|
| Logistics / warehouse | Scanner dropouts between racks | Dead zones, bad AP placement, overload |
| Manufacturing | Instability near metal and machines | Attenuation, interference, capacity |
| Office + hall campus | Uneven performance by zone | Coverage gaps and roaming issues |
| Multi-floor building | Weak floors or stair cores | AP density needed per floor |
Yes — survey before a large AP purchase. No — a stronger consumer router will not fix a warehouse. It depends — if you already run Omada or another SDN, we can often retune placement and channels after measurement.
What not to do
- do not add APs randomly into every “dead corner”,
- do not mix home mesh gear into scanner-critical operations,
- do not ignore cabling and PoE — weak backhaul kills good APs,
- do not keep staff, guests and cameras on one flat network without VLANs.

How Standberg helps
Standberg s. r. o. supports companies and logistics operations in Slovakia with Ekahau Wi-Fi surveys, clear reports and practical remediation. As a certified TP-Link partner we can measure, design and deploy Omada, configure VLANs and validate the result.
We mainly cover western Slovakia (Topoľčany, Partizánske, Trenčín, Bánovce nad Bebravou and nearby areas) and travel for larger projects. Language versions: Slovensky · Deutsch.
What to prepare before the survey
- A floor plan or at least zone photos (docks, aisles, offices).
- A list of critical devices: scanners, printers, cameras, VoIP.
- Where and when the issue appears (peak shift, specific aisle).
- Access to existing APs / controller if a network is already in place.
- A site contact who can open areas and escort the survey walk.
Better inputs mean a faster usable report and a clearer Omada design. If documents are missing, we can start with a walkthrough and complete them on site.
Post-deployment checklist
- Do scanners work in the worst aisles during peak load?
- Is roaming smooth without session drops?
- Are operations, guests and IoT separated?
- Is PoE/cabling sized for the AP count?
- Does IT have Omada Controller access for monitoring?
